Radiology & Ultrasound

Radiology is the medical specialty that uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the human body. Our clinic offers convenient, on-site radiology services at our Lewisburg location, including diagnostic x-ray examinations, bone density scans (DEXA), and ultrasound services.

Diagnostic X-Ray Exams

An x-ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive medical test that helps providers diagnose and treat medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce images of the inside of the body. X-rays are the most frequently used form of medical imaging.

Bone Density Scan (DEXA)

DEXA is the most commonly used method for diagnosing osteoporosis. It’s also effective in tracking the effects of treatment for osteoporosis and other conditions that cause bone loss. DEXA uses a very small dose of ionizing radiation to provide images of the inside of the body (usually the lower spine and hips) to measure bone loss. DEXA is simple, quick, and noninvasive.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging (sonography) uses high-frequency sound waves to provide images of the inside of the body, without being exposed to ionizing radiation. The images provide more accuracy in assisting with diagnostic procedures and deliver valuable information when diagnosing a variety of diseases and conditions.

All images are interpreted by board-certified radiologists.
